What makes a cowgirl? We all have the same start. Born tiny and wrinkled With a spirit from God and a pure heart. Is it a stern, unyielding father Who demands much? Or a quiet loving mother With a gentle touch. Some whine or complain Saying “if only I were a man”. A real cowgirl just does it She knows she can. Whether training a colt Or driving a truck, she fits any place. Comfortable in church Or running a barrel race. In a shiny sequined gown Or faded Wrangler jeans. She’s the same girl Lives within her means. She understands Rodeo Knows when to give the nod. And most of all She has a personal relationship with God. Dale Hensley May, 2005
